Increased Blockages by Vehicles on Dumbreck Rd.

It has come to our attention that the junction of Dumbreck Rd both North and Southbound at Mosspark Boulevard, is being continually blocked by vehicles especially during peak flow. Also during non-peak flow. This means pedestrians who are crossing in compliance with the green crossing light are dodging vehicles which are continuing to move. These vehicles have failed to comply with the Red Lights. We cannot have pedestrians coming into conflict with drivers failing to comply with legislation.

The Community Council request that this be reviewed by Glasgow City Council, as some form of added control has to be implemented at this junction, and as a Community Council we will not accept it is just volume.

Traffic on Dumbreck Rd – it is used as a shortcut between the motorways The volume has increased over the past 3 yrs – the loop further in to town is not being used. Dumbreck has become a dangerous area. The proposed cycle route will restrict the traffic more and phase 2 to the Clyde will make it worse. Weight limits should be looked at – the road surface is substandard so this makes vibration worse.

Misuse of E Bikes/Deliveries in Fleurs Avenue.

There is a vast increase of delivery E Bikes using Fleurs Avenue to get between Areas using the road and footpaths at speeds which are clearly well above what Legal E Bikes can do. Namely we believe they are illegal bikes. No lights and Dark Clothing so pedestrians do not stand a chance. This occurs at all times of the day, and it is inherently dangerous to pedestrians and children. The Police are aware of this.

Triangle area

Fleurs Avenue adjacent to Dumbreck. Money was released form the Govan Area Partnership to repair the footpath which is in a very dangerous condition. A serious trip hazard to those of impaired sight and reduced mobility. As this was released some time ago why has it not been completed?

Speeding Vehicles.

Since Shields Rd has reopened the speed of vehicles in both directions of Nithsdale Rd has increased dramatically. In addition to the epicormic growth the likelihood of a collision is high. Police are aware, and a complaint has been raised to Glasgow City Council, by Dumbreck Community Council.
